Starting on 1 August, six new initiatives will be launched under the “Together” Fund of the “Rights and Values” project. They are aimed at promoting the understanding and application of the rights and values of the European Union at local level.

Three of the initiatives fall under the thematic priority “EU Rights,” one focuses on “Democracy,” and two are implemented in the area of “Diversity and Equality.”

All initiatives aim to create sustainable local impact by addressing the needs of specific communities and developing innovative practices with potential for national-level application.

It is expected that more than 20,000 young people will be reached directly, and over 1,000,000 people indirectly, across different regions of the country.

The initiatives are implemented by civil society organisations selected through an additional call, held between 23 April and 23 June under the “Together” Fund. See the list of approved organisations below.

The call attracted strong interest—with a budget of EUR 100,000, a total of 65 proposals were submitted. All initiatives approved for funding received over 90 points in the evaluation process. The evaluation committee highlighted the exceptionally high quality of the proposals, noting the particularly strong competition despite the limited resources available.

The “Together” Fund is part of the project “Strengthening the Role of Civil Society Organisations in Bulgaria in Protecting and Promoting Fundamental European Rights and Values” (ProEUvaluesBG), hereinafter referred to as the “Rights and Values” project.

The “Rights and Values” project is implemented in partnership by the Open Society Institute – Sofia Foundation (OSI–Sofia), the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF/FRGI), and the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) (in Bulgarian: International Non-Governmental Association “European Citizen Action Service”).

The project is implemented with financial support from the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme in the amount of EUR 2,570,299, representing 90% of the total project budget. The funding authority is the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), in accordance with the powers delegated to it by the European Commission. The consortium members co-finance the project with EUR 258,588, representing 10% of its total value.
