189 Proposals for Initiatives and Concepts Have Been Submitted to The “Rights and Values” Project Call for Proposals

93 proposals for initiatives under the “Action” fund and 96 proposals for concepts under the “Together” fund were submitted within the call for proposals for financial support under the “Rights and Values” project. The application deadline was 17:00 on 12 June 2023. The total amount of funding sought from the submitted proposals for initiatives in all thematic priorities of the “Action” fund is EUR 5,063,772 with an indicative budget for the fund of EUR 800,000. Approximately 15 initiatives are expected to be supported. The amount of requested funding from all submitted concepts under the “Together” fund is 1,811,956 euros with an indicative budget for the fund of 800,000 euros. Approximately 45 initiatives will be funded. Within the framework of the call for proposals, civil society organizations and community centers will be supported, whose proposals for initiatives and concepts contribute to:

(1) raising awareness about EU values, as well as protecting and promoting the implementation of these values in Bulgaria, including the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, as well as respect for the rights of human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities;

(2) strengthening the capacity and role of civil society organizations to promote and protect these values.

The “Rights and Values” project team would like to draw the attention of the applicant organizations to regularly check their profiles in the Electronic Proposal Submission System (EPSS), where they will promptly receive information about the submitted proposals in regard to the next stages of the call for proposals.

The “Rights and Values” project will provide an opportunity for civil society organizations and community centers from all over the country to receive support for the implementation of civic initiatives on the issues of EU citizens’ rights, democracy, diversity, and equality. The project is implemented in partnership by the Foundation Open Society Institute – Sofia, the Workshop for Civil Initiatives Foundation (WCIF), and the international non-governmental association European Civil Action Service (ECAS).
